From the recordings Totally Demo'd Vol 1 The Treefort Sessions and Don't Blame gravity
This song was written as a cheeky response to those who blame "God" for everything. At the time, the wonderful Ben Kempel was setting up a studio and asked if I'd be interested in recording a few tunes. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. This was one of the songs that came out of that session. Local greats Ben Rollo, Adam Buschlen and Ben Kempel are the musicians on the track.
I was blown away when he sent me the recording and still listen to it with pride to this day.
Thanks lads for being awesome.
Lyrics
If you could see the things that I have seen
Or gone to all the places that I have been
Then you'd realize there's always a way out
If you had read the things you should have read
Or listened to the things the people have said
Then you'd realize there's always a way out
I know that life can be a merry-go-round
Sometimes you feel you're walking ten feet off the ground
Well don't blame gravity because you're feeling down
I hear you screaming but not making a sound
Cuz all the things you lost may never be found
But don't blame gravity because you're feeling down
If you had felt the things that you should feel
Or dealt with all the things you need to deal with
Then you'd realize there's always a way out
If you had heard the things you didn't hear
You wouldn't be afraid of all the things you fear
Then you'd realize there's always a way out
I know that life can be a merry-go-round
Sometimes you feel you're walking ten feet off the ground
Well don't blame gravity because you're feeling down
I hear you screaming but not making a sound
Cuz all the things you lost may never be found
But don't blame gravity because you're feeling down
